Tarasov Rowcycle is a Hong Kong established private limited company with an operational and product development base in Taiwan. We selected the company name to recognize Boris Tarasov’s lifelong ambition to unite rowing and cycling through the efficient and inventive row-drive™ system. Our Chinese name is 捷風豹國際有限公司 (Jie Fong Bau - meaning wind cat) symbolizes the magic of the product ideal – a cheetah running on open plain.
Our Taipei office is the main R&D and marketing center. Our engineering and design work is done in Perth, Australia then sent to Taipei for dissemination to suppliers. In short, we utilize western product and marketing design and extend this with Asian manufacturing expertise.
We are developing the company based on six major management goals, to:
* develop, manufacture and market row driven propulsion products based on the patented Tarasov row-drive™ technology that offer fitness conscious consumers exceptional performance, reliable quality, and competitive pricing;
* develop and refine Tarasov row-drive™ technologies through the design and creation of specialized components and mechanisms that will increase the speed and performance of our products and push the envelope of human propulsion speed possibilities;
* facilitate competitive, volume production of performance, cost competitive products. This requires efficient, manufacturable design & engineering systems in concert with competitive, experienced suppliers;
* develop a network of distributors, retailers and customers worldwide to promote the Tarasov Rowcycle brand and marketing system;
* advance the development of other vehicles and craft that can utilize Tarasov row-drive™ technologies;
* pursue business and development activities and strategies that provide financial and health benefits to our shareholders, distributors and the world around us.
Robert J. Virgin - Managing Director in charge of product and business developme
Robert is an Asian veteran with more than 20 years experience living and doing business in Taiwan and China. During his time in Taiwan and through his various positions and experiences working for multi-national corporations and in his own businesses, Robert has developed in depth understanding of Asian business practices and keen knowledge of global trading and distribution, product development and supplier negotiation, product finishing and marketing techniques and has a general global perspective that has served him well through out life.
Boris G. Tarasov - Design & Engineer Director
Boris Tarasov is the inventive wizard and engineering leader at Tarasov. He graduated as a mechanical engineer with a particular interest in rocket engine technology and was involved in corresponding projects in Russia. He has in depth experience in the design of unique technical equipment and has many awards and design achievements to his credit. He is an author of more than 80 publications and 20 inventions. In 1999 Boris was invited to join the University of Western Australia as a Professorial Fellow.
Throughout his life, Boris has maintained a keen interest in sport and competitive training (cross country skiing, bicycle, rowing). In his young age he was a Champion of the Soviet Union in scull four (1972) and qualified as Master of Sport of the USSR (1970). The experience in rowing and cycling helped Boris to develop a very powerful and fast rowcycle. Boris believes that cycles designed on this principle will break speed records and will be involved in programs of the future Olympic Games. All modifications must pass his demands for increase speed and performance.
The Company’s Taiwan location gives it access to export markets around the world, while providing direct local links to many premium suppliers in the bike industry. R&D base in Taiwan, heart of the global high end bicycle and manufacturing procurement market.
